The Course
Following the success of the Christianity Explored course which was run in early 2007, we have decided to run the course again in the New Year.
Christianity Explored is for anyone who wants to investigate Christianity in a friendly, relaxed and informal environment. You don’t have to have any previous knowledge or experience of Church or Christianity. The course examines who Jesus was, what his aims were, and what it means to follow him today by studying the gospel of Mark.
The evenings will begin with a meal cooked by Church members, followed by a discussion about the previous week’s topic. A DVD is then shown with a brief talk on a particular theme (presented by Rico Tice of All Souls Church, Langham Place), and this is followed with a discussion about any points which may have arisen as a result. All of the relevant materials are provided and the course is completely free of charge.
The course lasts ten weeks (with a break for half term on 12th February) and you are free to join or leave at any point, although we hope you will join us for the whole duration.
A number of people attended the course earlier in the year, and husband and wife, Trevor and Sue, were two of those people. Trevor said of the course: "I think the course is very useful for people to get to know Jesus. I also enjoyed the excellent meals prepared by Church members which we enjoyed together." Sue said: "I thoroughly enjoyed the course; it was very informative and my questions were answered. Through this and prayer I came to the Lord and became a Christian. I now attend Church and Bible Study as I am eager to learn more about Jesus and what God wants for us."
The course began on Tuesday 15th January at Corringham Evangelical Church, starting at 7pm and finishing by 9pm. We would love to be able to meet you and go through the course with you, as well as share a hearty dinner!
